Ingredients:
- 2 pounds large shrimp, shell-on
- 1 pound crab legs
- 1 pound clams
- 1 pound mussels
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 pound baby potatoes, halved
- 4 ears of corn, shucked and cut into thirds
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
- In a large stockpot or Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
- Stir in the Old Bay seasoning and Cajun seasoning, then add the sliced sausage, halved potatoes, and corn pieces to the pot. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add enough water to the pot to cover the ingredients by about an inch. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
- Once the potatoes are tender, add the crab legs, clams, mussels, and sliced lemon to the pot. Cover and simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through and the clams and mussels have opened.
- Finally, add the shrimp to the pot and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque.
- Season the Garlic Butter Seafood Boil with salt and pepper to taste, then garnish with chopped parsley.
- Serve the seafood boil hot, straight from the pot, with plenty of crusty bread or garlic bread on the side for soaking up the delicious broth.
