Ingredients:

  • 2 racks baby back ribs
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Barbecue sauce (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by using a knife to loosen one corner, then grabbing it with a paper towel and pulling it off.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.
  4. Rub the dry rub all over the ribs, coating them evenly on both sides.
  5. Place the ribs on the prepared baking sheet, meat side up, and cover tightly with another sheet of aluminum foil.
  6. Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until tender and cooked through.
  7. Remove the foil from the top of the ribs and brush them with barbecue sauce, if desired.
  8. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and bake the ribs for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and sticky.
  9. Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
