Recipe: Homemade KFC Chicken Popcorn
Ingredients:
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Directions:
- In a bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
- In another bowl, pour the buttermilk.
- Dip the chicken pieces into the buttermilk, then dredge them in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the chicken pieces in batches for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
