Ingredients:
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken or beef broth
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (optional, for thickening)
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Directions:
- Season the pork chops generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and minced garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized and golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.
- Add the chicken or beef broth to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Stir in the dried thyme, dried rosemary, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, whisk in the all-purpose flour until smooth and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the onion sauce over the top.
- Cover the skillet and simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the pork chops are heated through and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
- Garnish the Pork Chops in Onion Sauce with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve hot.
