Make the Yeast Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the dry yeast with 1 tablespoon of sugar and half of the warm milk. Leave it for approximately 10 minutes until it gets foamy.
Combine the flour, flax seeds, salt, and baking powder in a big bowl.
Mix the rest of the warm milk, apple cider vinegar, egg, sunflower oil, and the rest of the sugar in a separate bowl.
Make the Dough: Mix the wet ingredients with the dry ones until they are well combined.
Add the bubbly yeast mixture and keep mixing until a dough is formed.
Work the dough on a surface with flour for around 10 minutes until it is smooth and stretchy.
First Step: Put the dough in a bowl with some grease, cover it with a wet cloth, and leave it in a warm spot for around 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Shape the dough: Once the dough has grown in size, press it gently to let the air out. Knead the dough a little and shape it into a loaf or separate it into smaller pieces to make individual rolls.
Put the formed dough in a greased bread pan or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Second rising: Cover the dough again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
Heat up your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) before using it.
Prepare the Bread: Before you put the bread in the oven, spread softened butter on top of it.
Put the bread in the oven that has been heated beforehand and bake for 25-30 minutes. The bread is ready when the top is golden brown and sounds hollow when you tap it.
Let the bread cool down on a rack after taking it out of the oven before cutting it.
