Use half a teaspoon of onion powder.
– Season with salt and pepper to taste. – Divide 2 cups of milk.
– One-fourth cup cake flour
A medium onion, finely sliced; four to five medium russet potatoes; and one cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
How to Follow
1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and set oven temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a big basin. Combine the ingredients and shape into six patties.

3. Brown the patties on all sides in a pan over medium heat; put aside. At this stage, they are not required to be entirely cooked.
4. While the flour and milk are still in the skillet, mix them together until they are completely smooth. Gradually add the remaining milk while swirling constantly to make gravy. If you think it needs more salt and pepper, add some more.
5. In the baking dish that you’ve prepared, arrange half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom and half of the sliced onions on top.
6. Top with the browned hamburger patties and leftover onions and potatoes.
7. Evenly distribute the gravy that has been made over the whole dish.
8. Preheat oven to 1 hour and cover with foil.
9. Bake uncovered for another 15 minutes or until the shredded cheddar cheese is melted and bubbling, after which you may remove the foil.
Changes and Hints—Add a pinch of paprika or a splash of spicy sauce to the ground beef mixture for an extra heat.
– A If you happen to have finicky eaters in your household who happen to dislike onions, feel free to lower the quantity or leave them out completely.
– A Always slice your potatoes in the same way to make sure they cook evenly. Now is the perfect opportunity to whip out your mandoline slicer!
– A To make it a little more nutritious, use ground turkey with low-fat milk and cheese.
– A Keep in mind that the following day, the leftovers (should you end up with any!) taste even better.
