Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joe
Ingredients
1 lb ground chicken
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
½ cup chicken broth
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 sandwich buns
2 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Cook the Chicken:
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add ground chicken. Cook until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
Season & Simmer:
Add Cajun seasoning, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and chicken broth to the skillet. Stir well to combine. Let the mixture simmer for 10-12 minutes until it thickens. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
Toast the Buns:
While the chicken simmers, toast the sandwich buns by spreading butter on each half and toasting them in a separate pan until golden.
Add Cheese:
Once the chicken mixture has thickened, remove from heat. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and gooey.
Assemble & Serve:
Spoon the cheesy Cajun chicken mixture onto toasted buns and serve immediately. Enjoy the spicy, cheesy goodness!
