Crockpot French Onion Meatloaf with Melted Swiss Cheese

In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion soup mix, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, garlic powder, and pepper. Shape into a loaf.
In a skillet, sauté onions in butter until caramelized.
Place meatloaf in crockpot and top with caramelized onions. Pour beef broth around the meatloaf.
Cook on low for 6 hours. Add Swiss cheese slices on top during the last 15 minutes to melt.
Slice and serve with a drizzle of the broth.
Notes:

For extra flavor, toast the Swiss cheese until golden under a broiler.
