Honey Pepper Chicken Mac and Cheese
Ingredients:
16 oz spiral pasta
25 oz breaded chicken strips
5 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup parmesan, 1 cup mozzarella, 3/4 cup colby jack cheese
2 cups heavy cream, 1 stick butter
3/4 cup honey, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 3 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup pineapple juice, juice of 1 lemon
1 tbsp vinegar, 1 tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp cayenne
Salt, garlic, fresh basil
Instructions:
1. Cook pasta and chicken strips as directed. Set aside.
2. In a saucepan, simmer honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, pineapple juice, lemon juice, vinegar, black pepper, and cayenne for 15 minutes.
3. In a skillet, melt butter, add cream, and mix in cheeses until smooth. Stir in garlic, salt, and bacon.
4. Toss pasta in cheese sauce, then top with honey-coated chicken and garnish with basil.
