Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat.
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or sausage with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano. Mix well.
Shape the seasoned meat into burger patties. The size should be based on your preference, but they should be large enough to fit the hamburger buns.
In a separate small saucepan, combine the tomato sauce, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Warm the sauce over low heat, stirring occasionally.
Grill or cook the burger patties on the stovetop until they reach your desired level of doneness.
While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
When the burgers are almost done, add a generous spoonful of pizza sauce to the top of each patty.
Place a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
Close the grill or cover the pan to allow the cheese to melt and the sauce to heat through.
Once the cheese is melted, remove the burgers from the heat.
Assemble your pizza burgers by placing the cheesy patty on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Add your choice of pizza toppings and then place the top bun on to complete the burger.
Serve your old-school pizza burgers hot, and enjoy!
Feel free to customize these pizza burgers with your favorite pizza toppings, like sliced olives, bell peppers, onions, or even a drizzle of hot sauce if you like a little heat. These burgers are a fun twist on classic pizza flavors and are sure to satisfy your pizza and burger cravings simultaneously.
