  2. In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, melt the 1/2 cup of butter in the microwave, or you can melt it on the stovetop. Let it cool slightly.
  3. Stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the melted butter.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder. Add these dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until well combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  6. In another bowl, combine 1 cup chopped pecans, 1/2 cup light corn syrup, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons melted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  7. Carefully pour the pecan pie mixture over the brownie layer in the pan.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the pecan pie brownies to cool in the pan, and then refrigerate them for a few hours or overnight to help them set.
  10. Once they are set, remove from the refrigerator, cut into squares, and serve. Enjoy your pecan pie brownies!
