Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, melt the 1/2 cup of butter in the microwave, or you can melt it on the stovetop. Let it cool slightly.
- Stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the melted butter.
- In a separate bowl, sift together 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder. Add these dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until well combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- In another bowl, combine 1 cup chopped pecans, 1/2 cup light corn syrup, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons melted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Carefully pour the pecan pie mixture over the brownie layer in the pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the pecan pie brownies to cool in the pan, and then refrigerate them for a few hours or overnight to help them set.
- Once they are set, remove from the refrigerator, cut into squares, and serve. Enjoy your pecan pie brownies!
