Combine all ingredients until a soft, somewhat sticky dough is formed. If the dough seems a little sticky, don’t worry; with each kneading session, it will become easier to work with.
Shaping and Kneading of Bread
After the dough comes together, place it on a sanitized surface that has been gently floured. Work the dough for about five minutes, or until it becomes elastic and smooth.
Shape the dough into tiny circles or any other shape you choose after dividing it into equal halves. If you’d like, you may also roll the dough into long strips to create breadsticks.
Position the formed dough onto a silicone baking mat or parchment paper-lined baking sheet. To enable the pieces to rise, provide some space between them.
For around five minutes, cover the dough with a fresh kitchen towel and let it to rest. The dough will rise a little during this period and become puffier.
Steaming the Bread
Prepare a big saucepan and insert a heatproof rack or steamer basket in the bottom while the dough is resting. Water should be added to the pot being careful not to contact the steamer basket or rack.
After the dough has had time to rest, gently move it to the pot’s steamer basket or rack. To capture the steam and provide a moist baking environment, place a cover on the pot.
Over medium heat, steam the bread for about ten minutes. The bread will become soft and fluffy as a consequence of the steam’s assistance with cooking and rising.
Ten minutes later, take the pot off of the burner and cover it. Remove the steamed bread with care, using a spatula or tongs. The bread will be hot, so use caution.
