Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) before using it.

Make the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and leave it to the side.

In a big bowl, mix the white sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter until smooth and creamy.

Put the eggs in one by one, mixing well after each one. Add the vanilla extract.

In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt using a whisk.

Slowly mix the powdery ingredients into the wet ones until they are just mixed together.

Mix in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts, if desired.

Evenly spread the cookie dough in the pie crust.

Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean and the top is golden brown.

Allow the pie to cool on a metal rack before cutting and serving.

Different Types and Advice

For a different flavor, consider using white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts instead of the usual semi-sweet chocolate chips and walnuts. If you like a softer pie, use less flour by a quarter cup for a gooier texture similar to cookie dough. You can also try adding a little bit of cinnamon or espresso powder to the dough for a richer taste. If you don’t want to eat nuts, just leave them out or use dried fruit such as cranberries or cherries instead.
