Aunt Maria’s Spaghetti Casserole
Ingredients:
1 lb spaghetti
1 lb ground beef
2 cups marinara sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, drain and set aside.
3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté until translucent.
4. Add ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Drain excess grease.
5. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
6. In a baking dish, layer half the spaghetti, then half the meat sauce, and sprinkle with half the cheeses. Repeat layers.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
