The Incident That Made Me Realize I Needed Security
It all started on an ordinary afternoon, just like any other. I had placed an online order and was eagerly awaiting the delivery of some items I had ordered. I didn’t think much of it—after all, deliveries had become such a common part of life in the past few years. Like many people, I had become accustomed to receiving packages without a second thought, assuming they were safe on my doorstep until I returned home.
When I got home that evening, there was the usual brown box waiting for me outside. But as I bent down to grab it, I noticed something strange—a small note was wedged into the corner of the package. At first, I thought it was just a standard delivery slip, but then I read it:
“Hi, I’ve delivered your package. I noticed something strange when I was at your house today. There was someone hanging around the yard, looking like they were waiting for something. I just thought you should know. Stay safe!”
My heart sank. I stood frozen for a moment, reading the note over and over. Someone had been lurking around my house? Why hadn’t I noticed?
